Born in Northern Arizona and raised in Tucson, Seth is a lifelong musician specializing in percussion performance. Seth’s musical education began early, with a solid foundation in piano, percussion, and music theory under the tutelage of Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) alumni Brian J. Harris, TSO principal percussionist Homero Ceron, pianist Dr. Kim Hayashi, and Music Teachers National Association “Teacher of the Year” recipient Janice McCurnin. As an adolescent, Seth auditioned and was selected for the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra, Arizona Jazz Academy, as well as Arizona All-State concert and jazz bands. He continued to study music in college – first at Boston College, then at the University of British Columbia – where he also worked at a local recording studio, training his ears in the subtle art of music production.
Since receiving his degree from the University of Arizona, Seth has toured nationally with several bands and has been featured on an array of recording projects including rock, folk, country, and choral music. After receiving a certificate from the Tucson Music Teachers Association, Seth joined Allegro School of Music as a drum instructor in 2014.
As an instructor, you can count on Seth to keep things well-grounded in drum fundamentals, but patient, flexible, and attentive enough to guide students down their own path of musical discovery!
