Zachary, Guitar
Guitarist Zachary Empkey has performed in concert halls from Spokane, WA (Bing Crosby Theatre) and Tucson, AZ (Holsclaw Hall) to Evanston, IL (Galvin Hall). He performs a variety of repertoire for solo guitar, including works by J. S. Bach, Francisco Tarrega, Dionisio Aguado, Sergio Assad, Lennox Berkeley, Alexandre Tansman, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Roland Dyens. Zachary has received prizes in several competitions including first prize in the Schaeffer Guitar Competition.
In addition to his performance experience, Zachary also has a passion for teaching. Through which he has instructed many students in various styles. Zachary Empkey has a Master of Music Degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Arizona.
