Kuzco is the Pet of the Month!
Your Name
Kathryn Dodge
Tell us about your pet and why he or she should be the pet of the month!
My sun conure, Kuzco, is such a lovable little guy. He loves cuddles, scratches, and treats. He is insanely smart and always brightens my day with his silly antics. He is very loud but that just means the house is always lively. Plus, he’s so cute!
Congratulations!
We are making a $100.00 donation to Barb’s Dog Rescue and sending you a $25.00 Petco card!
4 Science-Backed Benefits of Dance for Kids
- Improves Physical Health
One of the most significant benefits of dance for kids is the improvement of their physical health. Dancing is a form of exercise that requires movement and coordination, serving as a fun and engaging way for kids to stay active.
Dance is a full-body workout that helps improve flexibility, balance, and coordination. It also helps build strength and endurance, which can lead to better overall physical health. In fact, studies have shown that dance can help reduce the risk of obesity and other health conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Furthermore, dance helps to develop good posture and body awareness. It encourages kids to use their bodies in different ways, promoting better alignment and reducing the risk of injury.
2. Enhances Cognitive Development
Dance is not only a physical activity but also a mental one. It requires children to learn and memorize choreography, which helps enhance their cognitive development.
Dance has been shown to improve memory, concentration, and focus. It also helps to develop problem-solving skills as children work on figuring out the steps and movements.
Moreover, dance provides a creative outlet that allows children to express themselves in a non-verbal way. This can lead to improved communication skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem.
3. Boosts Social Skills
Dance is a social activity that promotes teamwork, communication, and collaboration. It provides children with an opportunity to interact with others in a positive and constructive way.
Dance classes often involve group activities and partner work, encouraging children to work together towards a common goal. This helps to develop social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and respect for others.
Dance classes also provide a safe and supportive environment where children can make new friends and build relationships with others who share their interests. This can lead to improved social confidence and a sense of belonging.
4. Reduces Stress and Anxiety
Dance can be a great way for children to reduce stress and anxiety. It provides a physical outlet for them to release tension and pent-up energy.
Moreover, dance has been shown to increase the production of endorphins, which are the body’s natural mood boosters. This can help children feel more relaxed and happier.
Dance can also serve as a form of mindfulness, allowing children to focus on the present moment and let go of worries and distractions. This can lead to improved mental well-being and a sense of calm.

We are an Official Family Safety Plan Music School!
Glass Windows
While it is expected that older kids and teenagers will not want their parents to sit in on every music lesson, some parents may not feel comfortable with having their child in a separate room for a half-hour. To appease both students who wish for their lessons to be private and parents concerned about safety, we have installed windows on every single door so that parents can view their student’s lesson with peace of mind.
Office Staff
At our music academy, we require office staff to be present during lessons. Many other music academies have tight budgets and cannot afford the extra expense of employing office staff. In our opinion, this is not a safe practice and is irresponsible on the part of the academy. Our academy always has office staff present so that students are never left alone with teachers.
Background Checks
We require that teachers and staff members undergo extensive background checks. Our teachers are required to pass four tests: a National Offender Search, Statewide Criminal Background Check, National Criminal Background Check, and Social Security Number Verification. We view this as a necessary measure to preserve the safety and integrity of our academy.
Security Cameras
The safety of our students is our top priority, so we have security cameras in every single room. The precautionary program may be costly to the academy, but such a feature is worth it if it keeps our students safe and gives the parents peace of mind.
Open-Door Policy
Our school has an open-door policy for parents, which means that they’re invited to sit in on their child’s lessons. This should be something you look for when selecting an appropriate music school for your family.
