Carnegie Hall Recital, New Student Portal, June Student Recitals, Pet of the Month, and more!
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!
We are celebrating 24 years of music excellence in Tucson with a recital in Carnegie Hall. 35 Students will perform in the most prestigious venue in all of classical music on June 26th. We have a warmup recital on May 20th at Holsclaw Hall in the University of Arizona School of Music. We also have a warmup scheduled as part of our student recitals on June 3 and 4 at Catalina Foothills High School Recital Hall. Additionally, we will have a masterclass session (TBA) to help students fine tune their repertoire.
New Student/Family Portal
As you all know, we have switched to a new software program that will enable us to offer benefits that families have been asking us for for years.
Here’s the rundown of the new features:
- Schedule Private Lesson Makeups
From your dashboard you are now able to schedule absences and reschedule private lesson makeups. Each student gets 6 makeups per year. 24 hour notice is required.
2. One to One messaging with your teacher
From your dashboard you can communicate directly with your music teacher. They can send you assignments, files, etc. We will no longer be using LessonMate, so you won’t need a separate login. Everything will be in one place in your portal.
3. Video Lesson Rooms
From your dashboard you can access your teacher’s video room. If you decide you need to stay home for the day and have a remote lesson, you’ll just let your teacher know and you’ll both login and access the video room. This will replace Zoom, so you won’t need a separate
4. Manage your schedule
From your dashboard you can manage your family’s lesson schedule. You can transfer to a different day, time and instructor. You can find and enroll in more lessons. You can also withdraw from lessons. You can cancel lessons and schedule makeups (with 24 hour notice, 6 private makeups per year).
5. Only Billed for scheduled lessons
Tuition will now be calculated based on the number of lessons on your schedule each month. Just like before, tuition will be billed on the 1st of the month. The difference is that your tuition amount will vary monthly depending on how many lessons you have on your schedule. For example, some months have 5 Wednesday, other months only have 3 (like when we have school closures in November and December). Now you will be billed on the 1st of the month for exactly how many lessons are scheduled.
6. Withdrawal deadline is now the last day of the month
Withdrawal deadline has been moved from the 15th to the last day of the month. As long as you withdraw (which you can do via your dashboard) by the last day of the month before the next billing cycle on the 1st, you will not be charged.
Student Recitals are June 3 and 4 – Deadline to Sign up is April 7th!
Student recitals are going to be at the wonderful Catalina Foothills High School Recital Halls. You must sign up directly with your teacher. Teachers will be submitting their recital participants to the office on April 7th. Recital signups will begin on March 7th. Remember, students must be enrolled in continuous lessons for March, April, May, and June to be eligible to perform in the June 3 and 4 recitals.

Allegro Pets of the Month!
Your Name : Stevie Peavey
Tell us about your pet and why he or she should be the pet of the month!
Rosie is a rescue German Shepherd and she always plops down in the “music room” when I’m practicing and seems to enjoy it. But she does have some quirks. Recently, I was playing an oldie song called “What’s New Pussycat.” I left the house for a few hours and when I came back, I found that Rosie had taken the “What’s New Pussycat” sheet music off my music stand and chewed it up. I chastised her, and printed off another copy of the sheet music. Next time I left the house, I came home and discovered that once again, Rosie had taken that sheet music and completely destroyed it. Then I remembered something: the woman at German Shepherd rescue told me that “Rosie is a good dog, gets along with people and dogs, but she doesn’t get along with cats.”
That explains it.
I appeased her by learning the song “Walking the Dog.”. That song seems to better suit her musical tastes.
P.S. another time, I bought a magazine called “understanding your dog’s mind”. She ripped up that magazine too
We are giving a $100.00 donation on your behalf to Barb’s Dog Rescue and we are giving you a $25.00 Gift Card to Petco so you can treat your pet!

Thank you for the 5 Star Reviews

I was pretty nervous about going to my first lesson as an adult with 0 experience with the ukulele or music in general for that matter. After about 15 minutes my teacher Scott had me laughing and totally at ease. By lesson 3 I was good enough to sound pretty decent when practicing at home. They let you choose what you want to learn and make your own lesson plan if you want. Highly recommend Scott for Ukulele lessons!
