Renowned for her unique tone and effortless vocal precision, Nadari Hockenhull bares her soul. Due to her seamless crossover from Opera, to Jazz, to Pop, to Gospel, and Musical Theater, Nadari has successfully coined the term Neo-Classical. She is a passionate ambassador for Musical Arts Education and preservation with the Arizona Opera. She is currently working on her Graduate degrees at University of Arizona.
Prior to relocating to Arizona, she was on staff as a Professor of Voice at AMDA College and Conservatory for the Performing Arts and she switched to K12 Music upon arrival in Arizona. She is also presently a local touring Artist and advocate for Arts Education and outreach.
By invitation of President Elect, Bill Clinton’s Inaugural Committee, she performed at the Inaugural Ball. Then, after being awarded 2nd Place in the Metropolitan Opera Regional competition, she was invited to tour under the direction of John DeMain with the Houston Grand Opera’s national production of Porgy and Bess. She had also toured with the Tyrolean Opera Program (TOP) under the direction of Elizabeth Bachman of the San Francisco Opera, completing a regional tour throughout Austria.
After publishing her first Gospel album it ranked Top 10 in Asia, and in select countries across Europe. The summer of 2016 marked her Carnegie Hall debut, as a soloist in a concert honoring the legendary opera singer Kathleen Battle.
She recently released her first Classical album, which included refreshing new arrangements of favorite arias. Nadari is set to return to the studio in the summer of 2022 to complete an album containing a compilation of popular Negro-Spirituals.
